The Knowledge for World Conservation (KWC) is inviting qualified and experienced consultants to apply for a consultancy to support the development of a Five-Year Strategic Plan for Women in Timber Ghana Association (WiTG).
WiTG is a fast-growing national association of women entrepreneurs and professionals in Ghana’s timber and wood sector. Since its establishment in 2022, the Association has expanded its membership nationwide, strengthened women’s leadership in the forest sector, promoted sustainable forestry, and contributed actively to reforestation, policy dialogue, and responsible timber trade.
As WiTG’s visibility and influence continue to grow, the Association is seeking expert support to define a clear strategic direction for the next five years.
About the Consultancy
The assignment will support WiTG to develop a comprehensive, practical, and forward-looking Five-Year Strategic Plan. The plan will consolidate past achievements, strengthen institutional capacity, and position WiTG as a key actor in forest governance, sustainable timber trade, climate resilience, and biodiversity conservation in Ghana.
This consultancy forms part of the Forest Governance, Markets and Climate (FGMC) Phase II project titled “Advancing Good Forest and Mineral Governance to Reduce the Contribution of Timber Trade and Mining to Deforestation in Ghana, Liberia, and Cameroon.” The project is supported with funds from the UK International Development (UKID), and with implementing support from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It is implemented by a consortium of four organizations led by Nature for Development Foundation (NDF), with Knowledge for World Conservation (KWC) as one of the implementing partners. KWC is responsible for supporting WiTG to develop its first 5-year Strategic Plan.
