Wood Tracking Manual of Procedure for Small-Medium Enterprises

This manual assists small and medium-size timber companies to show compliance with Wood Tracking System (WTS) in Ghana. The study, development and testing of the systems described in the manual were outputs from Project TFL-SPD 007/09 “Strengthening the Capacity of Small-medium Enterprises in Ghana to Produce and Trade in Timber Products from Legal and Sustainable Sources”, funded by the International Tropical Timber Organization, ITTO.

FAO-EU FLEGT Programme KWC Success story in Ghana

The FAO-EU FLEGT Programme partnered with KWC to assist small and medium forest enterprises in complying with forest legality standards. SMFEs were able to identify gaps in operations and received trainings to undertake corrective actions to close these gaps. These trainings equipped operators with new skillsets, leading to increased compliance with the Ghana timber legality assurance system established under the framework of the VPA.
