We are excited to announce a change in our organization’s name. Until this announcement, we were known as the Kumasi Wood Cluster Association (KWC). We have re-registered our organization to be Knowledge for World Conservation (KWC). Our acronym remains the same KWC, however our name change aptly reflects a profound evolution in our mission and vision.
KWC remains a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting sustainable forest management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the protection of our natural ecosystems. Our new name reflects a new era of growth, extending our reach beyond geographical boundaries and redefining our brand identity to align with our expanded scope and vision.
Our new focus encapsulates a comprehensive approach to integrating considerations such as biodiversity, gender equity, social justice, climate change and community empowerment into conservation of natural resources,. Through our diverse portfolio of programs, initiatives and partnerships, it is the goal of KWC to contribute to the safeguarding of precious bio-resources in Ghana and beyond while enhancing the socioeconomic well-being of natural resources dependent communities, small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and the resource based industries in general.
While our name may have changed, our commitment to delivering strategic services remains resolute. From advocacy and capacity building to education and information dissemination, Knowledge for World Conservation is dedicated to empowering communities and stakeholders with the tools and awareness needed to effect positive change. Furthermore, KWC’s conservation efforts will now emphasize more on the protection, preservation and sustainable use of bio-resources and the livelihoods of communities and their socioeconomic wellbeing.
We want to assure all stakeholders that despite our name change, all existing resources, documentation, and information associated with our previous identity as the Kumasi Wood Cluster Association will remain fully valid and accessible. This includes but is not limited to historical records, project documentation, and relevant literature.
Thank you for your continued support as we strive towards a brighter and greener future.
