
The Knowledge for World Conservation (KWC), with funding from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is seeking a Cocoa Supply Chain Expert under the Restoration for Resilience and Recovery (3R) of Sustainable Agri-food Systems project. The assignment aims to strengthen the capacity of Forest and Farm Producer Organizations (FFPOs) and farmer unions in Ghana to meet the requirements of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which mandates that cocoa exported to the EU must be deforestation-free, legally produced, and fully traceable.
Assignment overview
The selected expert will deliver three one-day training workshops between September and October 2025 in Sefwi Wiawso, Koforidua, and Kumasi. The training will cover due diligence in cocoa production and exports, Ghana’s legal frameworks on land and tree tenure, sustainable farming practices, labour and environmental safeguards, as well as the Ghana Cocoa Traceability System (GCTS). Practical sessions will include farm mapping, geolocation for traceability, recordkeeping, and compliance with national regulations.
Applicants Experience & Qualification
Applicants must have at least five years’ professional experience in cocoa management, sustainability, and supply chains, with proven knowledge of Ghana’s cocoa sector and the EUDR framework. Strong facilitation skills in English and Akan are required. Interested experts are invited to submit applications with supporting qualifications within five days of this announcement. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online before the final award of the contract.
